The Seabrook Island Green Space Conservancy (SIGSC) is proud to sponsor Samantha Siegel, Angel Oak Preserve Director, to present the near-final designs for the future 44-acre preserve surrounding the enormous, centuries-old Angel Oak. The preserve design features boardwalk trails, a nature play area for children and educational information about the tree and native people that have held the Angel Oak sacred.

Samantha Siegel founded “Save the Angel Oak” in 2008 when the beloved landmark was threatened by a 600-unit development. In 2013, she teamed up with Lowcountry Land Trust, raising millions to purchase and protect the land once slated for development.

The Seabrook Island Green Space Conservancy protects land for the environment, for habitat, forever. To learn more about their mission, please visit sigsc.net.
