Outdoors at the Charleston County Parks

Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) offers a wide variety of outdoor programs for the entire family. There are many parks and venues that make up the CCPRC system but the closest parks to Seabrookers are Johns Island County Park and James Island County Park. In addition, there are the Caw Caw Interpretive Center, Palmetto County Park, Beach Parks, Boat Landings, and many other sites.

Some of the numerous activities that are offered through CCPRC at the various locations are early morning bird walks, a climbing wall, lectures of historical interest, a challenge course, swimming lessons, and much more.

In addition, the Johns Island County Park offers miles of walking trails, an archery range, an equestrian center, and a 9-hole disc golf course.

A particular favorite of many people is the Lowcountry Cajun Festival at the James Island County Park on Saturday, April 22, 2023.  It is a full day of Zydeco music, Cajun and Creole foods, kids’ activities, and all-around raging fun!

Go to ccprc.com and discover more activities to enjoy the outdoors in the Lowcountry.
