Juneteenth National Independence Day is a US federal holiday signed into law by President Joe Biden on Thursday, June 17, 2021. It is the first new federal holiday since Martin Luther King Jr. Day was designated in 1983. It is also a South Carolina state holiday. This means most banks and federal offices will be closed.
Juneteenth is a portmanteau word for June and nineteenth and commemorates the June 19, 1865 announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas and the emancipation of African-American slaves throughout the Confederate South.

Post and Computer Center will be open on Monday, June 19 with normal hours.
Harris Teeter will be open Monday, June 19 with normal hours.
