If a cardiac event occurs, there are two important resources to know how to use that have the potential of saving a life. One is CPR, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, an emergency lifesaving procedure performed when the heart stops beating. The other is an AED, or automated external defibrillator, a device used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. Seabrook Island Community Emergency Response Team invites you to participate in a CPR-AED class on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Oyster Catcher Community Center. The training will be conducted by the St. John’s Fire District (STJFD).
Seating for this training is limited to 12 attendees and there is no cost to participants. The Town of Seabrook Island will cover the administrative costs for the issuance of certification cards. If you decide to register, please ensure that you are available and able to attend the course so that your reserved space is not left unattended.
This program is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please respond to Deborah Trum at deb43060@gmail.com to indicate your desire to participate. If the session is fully subscribed, you will be notified of the date of the next scheduled class. The goal is to train as many community members as possible and to that end, the plan is to offer this training quarterly.
