A New Season of the SI Garden Club Is in Bloom

The dog days of summer are upon us and we are feeling the heat and humidity, but with the month of September comes the new season of the 2023-2024 Seabrook Island Garden Club. We want to wish a welcome back to our current members, and a welcome to the Garden Club to all new and prospective members.

Our first kickoff meeting will take place on Friday, September 8, at the Oyster Catcher Community Center. Refreshments and mingling will begin at 9:45 am, and a warm welcome from our new president, Carol Price, will commence at 10:00 am. Please plan to attend. You will have the opportunity to learn about our various committees and we welcome your involvement.

This year, we celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Seabrook Island Garden Club! As this year unfolds, we will look back on contributions to our community that began all those years ago and celebrate the women who had the foresight to come together to make it happen. At our first meeting, we will take a look at how our club has evolved through the years with a slide show of photographs found in scrapbooks from years past. You won’t want to miss this.

We will also fill you in on the fantastic calendar of events and speakers that our program and field trip committee chairpersons have planned for the coming season. We will be having a plant swap at this first meeting as well. Please bring a plant (or a few) to swap out for a different plant to take home.

If you are interested in joining the Garden Club, please attend this event. You can pay your $25 annual membership dues and enjoy our raffle drawings at this meeting as well. Please pay by cash or check. Our monthly meetings take place on the second Friday of most months so mark your calendars now.
