  • Candlelight Tour ◊ November 25

Beautiful and moving, this eighteenth century historic house is the oldest untouched home open to the public in the United States. On select dates, Drayton Hall will be open for these reservation-only guided Candlelight Tours to a limited number of guests.

Experience Drayton Hall at night with these incredibly special candlelight experiences. This is a remarkable way to understand the house and the lives that touched it – and historic Charleston – from the perspective of a preserved colonial home.

  • Garland Workshop ◊ November 26

Get ready for the Charleston Holidays with this perfect activity! Join us for a holiday garland design workshop with Roadside Blooms in our Education Pavilion. On Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 1:00 pm til 3:00 pm, guests will enjoy a two hour tutorial on garland assembly and construction resulting in a finished product to take home and enjoy throughout the holiday season. All supplies will be provided for the workshop. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing. At the conclusion of the workshop guests are invited to attend our Holiday Sip and Shop. Reservations required, seats are limited.

  • Home for the Holidays ◊ November 24, 2023-January 6, 2024

Step back in time with us to the roaring twenties as we embellish the Magnolia House in the jewel tones of the 1920’s for the holiday season. Our Magnolia House tour will spend time highlighting Norwood and Sara Hastie, who entertained lavishly during their 30 year ownership – including visits from presidents, first ladies, innovators and A-list celebrities of the time.

  • Living History Day November 11

This popular annual event showcases the many different skills that were practiced by both the enslaved and free people throughout the Lowcountry’s long rich history. Interpreters and volunteers will demonstrate skills including blacksmithing, pottery, carpentry, textiles, canvas, indigo dyeing, cooking, candle making, cane pressing, and more!

Make a wet felted wreath and learn mankind’s oldest textile process! Enjoy wine and charcuterie and take home your artwork and a frame you’ll paint.

  • 2023 Thanksgiving Buffet November 23

Make plans to spend Thanksgiving Day at Middleton Place with a traditional buffet meal prepared by the Middleton Place Restaurant in the Pavilion with sweeping views of ancient live oaks.

General Admission to Middleton Place is included with your reservation. Guests are invited to stroll “America’s Oldest Landscaped Gardens” before and after dinner.

Seatings are available from 11:00 am until 3:30 pm.
