When there is a situation that requires some type of intervention or response, who do you call? Sometimes it is confusing because there are three entities on Seabrook Island: Town of Seabrook Island, Seabrook Island Property Owners Association, and Seabrook Island Club. So, who do you call?
The Town of Seabrook Island (TOSI) is responsible for the beach below the high tide line. To protect public safety and preserve the beach’s natural beauty, the Town Council has adopted a comprehensive list of beach rules, including requirements for pets. The town also provides the Beach Patrol, which renders a variety of services. If you see a violation of beach rules, call or text the Beach Patrol at (843) 718-6083. Please note that to have a bonfire on the beach you must obtain permission from SIPOA. Click here for the Beach Fire Permit Application. If any medical or other emergency, such as drowning, occurs on the beach, call 911.
Seabrook Island Property Owners Association (SIPOA) is responsible for Gate Access control, SIPOA rules compliance, and the beach above the high tide line. Please do not call the Gate House unless an immediate response is needed (843-768-6641). Examples include a noise disturbance, a nuisance or danger involving wildlife, or a tree or other obstacle on the road. Instead, contact the SIPOA offices at (843) 768-0061 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Friday or email publiccomment@sipoa.org. On the beach, if you see a nesting turtling or emerging hatchling, keep your distance, keep pets away, and notify the Turtle Patrol at (843)-310-4280. In the case of a medical or other emergency, call 911.
Seabrook Island Club (SIC) is responsible for the Golf Courses, Racquet Club, Beach Club pools, and Equestrian Center. If you see a rules violation on a golf course, such as people putting after hours, individuals dropping balls and playing a hole or two, or children playing ball on a green or fairway, during normal business hours, call the Golf Pro Shop at (843) 768-2529. If after hours, between 6:00 and 8:30 pm, call the Club’s security team at (843)-906-6280. Provide them with the name of the course, hole number, and any other pertinent information. In the case of unauthorized vehicles on the course, get the LSV license number so that the Club can look up the owner and reach them personally. At the Beach Club, members should bring any concern directly to the attention of staff in real-time so that they can address it immediately. In the case of a medical or other emergency, call 911.
