August 26 Update: Seabrook Island Master Plan

Seabrook Island Club, Seabrook Island Property Owners Association and the Town of Seabrook Island are working together to develop an aligned long term Master Plan for the community. If you missed reading the initial post “Introduction: Seabrook Island Master Plan,” click here.

The Master Plan Committee has received feedback that a number of people are not receiving the e-mails. Starting with this e-mail, we are using a larger distribution list (broader than the primary e-mail address listed per property). In addition, on the Master Planning website, anyone can add their e-mail address to the e-blast mailing list.

From August 19 – 21, Kuo Diedrich Chi (KDC) visited Seabrook Island. During that time KDC was able to visit all major sites on the island: The Island House, Pelican’s Nest, Racquet Sports facilities, Equestrian Center, Maintenance facilities, Lake House, Oyster Catcher Community Center, SIPOA buildings, Town Hall, and the pool areas at both the Club and SIPOA.

KDC also spent time meeting individually with each of the three entities involved in the Master Plan (SIC, SIPOA and TOSI), to better understand the needs of the island and culminating in a joint session with the three entities on Wednesday afternoon. This initial visit and meetings completed Step 1 of the 10-Step Master Planning Process. We look forward to moving to Step 2 of the Master Planning Process in the next few months. Look for more information on how to get involved in upcoming weekly communications.

The KDC 10-Step Master Planning Process for Seabrook Island is a structured approach aimed at creating a comprehensive Master Plan for our community. For detailed information on the KDC 10-step Master Planning Process, click here.

We appreciate the additional questions and comments that you’re providing via the website. There will be another FAQ update next week to address those questions.
