Seabrook Island Village Hosts “You and Your Brain” Workshop

Saturday, October 19, 2024, 1:30 – 3:00 pm

Join us at The Lake House on Saturday, October 19 at 1:30 pm for Seabrook Island Village’s (SIV) interactive workshop entitled “You and Your Brain.” This small group event will take place in Live Oak Hall at The Lake House.

Attendance is free of charge and limited to forty (40) participants. Registration is open to all Seabrook Island residents on a “first-come, first-served” basis. Advance registration is a requirement. Sign up at the SIV website.

Andrea Sartori, Ph. D., Clinical Neuropsychologist and Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) will discuss key brain health topics and then follow with interactive discussion and addressing participants’ specific questions about brain health and cognitive aging. The topics include: (1) brain aging (what happens physically in the brain with age); (2) what is normal and not normal brain aging; (3) common causes of cognitive impairment; and (4) specific lifestyle changes to promote healthy brain aging.

Dr. Sartori lectured at SIV’s first brain health presentation in October 2023. Over 140 Seabrook Island residents attended and requested an interactive format for discussion and questions with Dr. Sartori. Seabrook Island Village is delighted to again sponsor Dr. Sartori and fulfill the requests of our community. SIV welcomes your attendance at this interesting and informative workshop.

(This program is supported by a grant from the Town of Seabrook Island.)

Seabrook Island Village, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, is a local not for profit organization dedicated to assisting residents to stay in their homes, maintain their independence and remain active in the community, as long as it is safe to do so. See our website for details or to volunteer. All are welcome.
