Seabrook Island Village (SIV) is hosting a small group, interactive workshop conducted by Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Clinical Neuropsychologist and Neurology Department faculty member, Andrea Sartori, Ph.D. The workshop will take place on Saturday, October 19 at the Lake House from 1:30to 3:00 pm.
SIV welcomes all Seabrook Island residents to attend this free workshop and learn about brain health and what we can do to keep it. The attendance limit is forty (40) to promote robust discussion and ample time for questions. Advance registration is required at the SIV website: www.SeabrookIslandVillage.org. Reserve your spot today!

In this workshop, Dr. Sartori will discuss four distinct and interrelated brain health topics: (1) brain aging – what physically happens; (2) normal brain aging and what may not be normal, including “red flags;” (3) common causes of cognitive impairment; and (4) lifestyle behaviors that promote healthy brain aging. Dr. Sartori will spend the most time on strategies for improving and promoting brain health. She will reserve time for lingering questions that may not have been asked during the prior discussion.
As a Clinical Neuropsychologist, Dr. Sartori focuses on relationships between the brain and behavior. Clinical Neuropsychologists evaluate patients who are experiencing cognitive and/or behavioral changes resulting from central nervous system diseases or disorders, e.g., Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and stroke. Dr. Sartori works closely with specialists in neurology, psychiatry, radiology, surgery, and other medical disciplines to aid in diagnosis and develop treatment plans
Dr. Sartori lectured at SIV’s first brain health public seminar, entitled “Brain Health with Age.” SIV is honored to host her return in response to requests for a dialogue-intense program.
Seabrook Island Village, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, is a local not for profit organization dedicated to assisting residents to stay in their homes, maintain their independence and remain active in the community, as long as it is safe to do so. See our website for details or to volunteer. All are welcome.
This program is supported by a grant from the Town of Seabrook Island.
