On November 12, 2024, FortyEight – Wine Bar and Kitchen will conduct a fundraiser for the Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network (LMMN). That night, 50% of all food sales will be donated to LMMN, a non-profit dedicated to protecting our local dolphin population. Let’s fill the house!

The Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network (LMMN) provides a vital dolphin outreach program at our Cap’n Sams Inlet to educate beach visitors on Seabrook and Kiawah Islands. The goal is to bring greater awareness of the rare and fragile foraging activity of some local dolphins called strand feeding, a behavior which is documented in less than a handful of places in the world! Volunteers from our community educate and advocate for our local dolphins under the auspices of the Dolphin Education Conservation Program, funded by both the Town of Seabrook and Kiawah Islands.
Seeing this remarkable, natural feeding phenomenon with your own eyes is a privilege and just one of the many remarkable experiences that makes our island special. Continuing to provide conservation efforts like these to protect our local dolphins and help ensure that behaviors like strand feeding are not abandoned requires resources including volunteers, community involvement and financial support.
So, don’t wait! Contact your friends and neighbors; reserve a table for four and let’s fill the house!
