St. Christopher Camp Outdoor Encounters Summer 2025

Join us this summer for one (or more) of St. Christopher’s Outdoor Encounters’ events and explore what makes a Lowcountry barrier island so special! From wildlife encounters to getting out on the water, we offer programs on select dates and times that allow you to learn about and experience the incredible nature found on Seabrook Island.

Program events for Summer 2025 are:

Herpetology & Seining – Friday, June 27 & Friday, July 18, 1:00 – 2:30 pm

  • $20 per person
  • 15 total spots available
  • Come learn about our scaly friends of both the land and sea! Get up close with native reptile and amphibian animal ambassadors, and then, discover what marine life lies within our waters by dragging a large seine net through the estuary surf!

Birdwatching Tour – Wednesday, July 2, 8:00 – 10:00 am

  • $25 per person
  • 20 total spots available
  • Venture through barrier island ecosystems and learn more about the iconic birds that call the Lowcountry home. On this tour, you may glimpse ibises, sandpipers, painted buntings, and more! Binoculars will be provided.

Botany Bay Shelling & Kayak Tour – Saturday, July 26, 2:30 – 5:30 pm

  • $75 per person
  • 15 total spots available
  • Kayak across the North Edisto estuary to nearby Botany Bay Island, known for its pristine beaches and bountiful shell beds. You may encounter wildlife and find shark teeth along the shore! Kayaks, paddles, and personal flotation devices are all provided.

All programs are guided by a trained naturalist and start at the St. Christopher Camp & Conference Center on Seabrook Island (2810 Seabrook Island Road). We recommend bringing water, sunscreen, and questions for all programs!
