Seabrook Organizations and Clubs: SINHG

Discover. Connect. Explore.
Welcome to the Seabrook Island Natural History Group (SINHG)

SINHG is Seabrook Island’s largest and longest-running special interest group. Founded by a group of visionary residents in 1984, SINHG was created to share the rich natural and cultural history of our region, while also bringing neighbors together through shared experiences. Whether you’re a lifelong learner, an adventurer, or just looking to make new connections, SINHG offers something for everyone.

Membership is open to all property owners in the Town of Seabrook Island. Annual dues are just $16 per person for the membership period June 1, 2025 through May 31, 2026.

Each year SINHG hosts evening programs in September, October, November, February, March, and April. These events feature presentations on topics ranging from local history and cultural traditions to nature, food, and more. These programs are free for all SINHG members and only $5.00 for members’ guests and are held in the Live Oak Room at the Lake House on the second Thursday of the month.

Each spring and fall, we offer 20 to 30 excursions that include walking and bus tours, boating, kayaking, and biking adventures and outings that cover everything from history, nature, culinary arts, and so much more. Trip dates, descriptions, and costs are announced to members about three months in advance, allowing plenty of time to plan. These experiences offer more than just education—they’re a fun and relaxing way to meet fellow Seabrookers who share your interests.
