Calling all Seabrook Island Dragon Slayers
past, present, and future.

What: Dragon Boat Charleston is having a fundraiser
and would love for you to participate. Bring a friend!
When: May 2, 2026, All Day event
Where: Brittlebank Park, Charleston
Who: Dragon Boat Charleston is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the mental and physical health of cancer survivors and their community through the sport of dragon boating. Through its on-the-water and other wellness programs, it seeks to redefine cancer survivorship for its members and caregivers. This is DBC’s largest fundraiser that helps pay for its yearly expenses supporting their programs.
Dragon Boat Charleston is recruiting teams who will raise funds and also participate on race day. Seabrook Island would like to form a team as they have done in the past, and need a captain or co-captains, and 20-25 enthusiastic people willing to learn to paddle. There are past participants who have expressed an interest in forming a team for the 2026 festival. All training and equipment are provided. There are several individuals who live on Seabrook Island who paddle regularly with DBC who are happy to offer guidance, encouragement, and answer questions.
How: December 15, 2025 begins early bird registration. $900 per boat. After January 16, 2026, $1100 per boat.
All of Seabrook Island is invited. Any questions or for more information, please contact Joanne Farrell at 516-314-2930. Thank you!
