SIAG to Co-Host Mary Whyte Book Signing and Presentation

You’re invited to a once-in-a-lifetime event presented by the Seabrook Island Artist Guild. There’s no charge for this event.

Join us for an extraordinary evening as we welcome Mary Whyte, our own former Seabrooker, nationally acclaimed artist, and celebrated author, for a special presentation that will captivate you, bring you to tears, and evoke spontaneous laughter. Mary Whyte shares her latest book, An Artist’s Life: Unlocking Creative Expression.

The event will be hosted by Seabrook Island Real Estate and will be held on Wednesday, December 3, from 4:30 to 6:00 pm at the Seabrook Island Real Estate offices located at 1002 Landfall Way, Seabrook Island.

Celebrated for her breathtaking watercolor paintings that capture the soul of the human experience, Mary has long been recognized as one of the foremost figures in American art. Now, she returns to share her latest work, An Artist’s Life: Unlocking Creative Expression, an inspiring reflection on her decades-long artistic journey.

Through personal stories and hard-won lessons, Mary reveals how perseverance, imagination, and passion fuel a truly creative life. In Mary’s own words, “For over 25 years, Seabrook Island and the surrounding area were the inspiration for many of my paintings. If only for a brief visit, it is a pleasure returning to the magic.”

Below are the program highlights:

  • Q&A Session – A rare opportunity to engage directly with Mary and gain insights into her creative process.

About the Book
Over her fifty-year career as an artist and teacher, Mary Whyte has discovered that the most important lesson is not how to paint an eye, clouds, or steam, but how to awaken one’s own well of creativity and passion. In An Artist’s Life, she guides readers beyond self-doubt and creative obstacles to see the world with fresh eyes and express their truest vision. Filled with seventy of her acclaimed portraits, along with new, never-before-seen works, this book is both a memoir and a guide to living a more creative, inspired, and meaningful life.
