In her own words…
Photography became a passion for me in high school. I bought my first camera—a Pentax K1000—and immersed myself in learning everything I could. I served as a class photographer, assisted with yearbook photos, and spent countless hours in the darkroom. I continued taking photography courses through high school and college, and during my university years I was encouraged to enter contests and even shoot for the local newspaper. Those experiences significantly boosted my confidence and deepened my love for the craft.
Most of my photography has been personal—documenting family moments, vacations, my pets, and the natural world. I have a special appreciation for sunrises, sunsets, moonrises, moonsets, and rainbows. There is something peaceful and grounding about watching these moments unfold, often early in the morning, with only my dogs beside me.
I consider myself an amateur, introverted photographer. Sharing images with strangers takes courage because my photography is so personal. What I love most is capturing moments in a way that reflects the things I cherish most in life. From a young age, I created photo albums—some for myself and some for my parents and grandparents. These albums remain my greatest treasures. They hold the memories of our lives and will continue telling our stories for years to come.

Join us on January 6, 2026 from 4:30-6:00 pm at the Lake House for an artist reception at 5:00 pm. During the reception, Kim will give a brief talk about her photos in the Osprey 2 meeting room. This event is open to all Seabrookers.
