Mike first presented to SIPC on April 17, 2025. In this Zoom Macro session with SIPC, he will cover:

• equipment and setup
• soft focus vs everything in focus
• filling the frame
• water drop flower refraction
• shooting through subjects
• creating and working with backgrounds and using natural backgrounds
• finding character
• flower backsides and backlighting
• focus stacking
• tight aperture diffraction
• working with silk flowers or dried / dead flowers.

Even if you’ve never dabbled in Macro photography, Mike’s talk will give you the foundations to help you capture the beauty in the tiny details of the colorful blooms all around us. This presentation will appeal to photographers of all skill levels. We hope you can join us on January 15.
