Reminder: SIV Practical Tips for Safe Movement Program, January 30

Uneven surfaces, miles of stairs, changing bodies (yes, we all are aging) create mobility issues for many family members and friends at Seabrook Island and elsewhere. Don’t be a bystander of other’s efforts—lend a skilled hand to prevent falls and practice safe mobility.

We can teach you how to help others and maintain your own and others’ safety. Join us for Practical Tips for Safe Movement, conducted by Seabrook Island Village (SIV) Neighbors helping Neighbors. We strive to be a resource for health and wellness practices, and this hands-on workshop has a proven record of preparing people for a variety of real-life situations, such as ramps, car entry/exit, stairs, and handling assistive devices. Join us on January 30 from 10:00 am to noon at the Oyster Catcher Community Center for this interactive event.

Experts from Roper’s Home and Hospice Department and Charleston Southern University’s Department of Physical Therapy bring their knowledge and skills to improve our efforts. It is a low-key workshop where participants get lots of practice and flexibility to ask questions from our team.
