The October 2026 Seabrook Island Garden Club meeting featured Pam Hrick, a floral designer who fell in love with the art of pressed flowers. She discussed different flower pressing processes and demonstrated her technique using a wooden flowers press with layered cardboard, paper, and felt. In addition, she brought large pieces of her art as well as cards, bookmarks, and gift tags to illustrate the variety of ways pressed flowers can be preserved and enjoyed. The November Garden Club meeting will be held on Friday, November 13 at 9:30 am at the Oyster Catcher Community Center. It will feature Jen Tyrrell from Audubon South Carolina presenting how to create a bird-friendly yard on Seabrook Island. Please remember to bring cash for our raffle-$1 per ticket to benefit our philanthropy activities. Visitors are welcome to attend meetings and asked to make a $5 donation.
