Earth Day Celebration April 25
Earth Day is observed every year on April 22 to recognize the achievements of the environmental movement and raise awareness about conservation and climate challenges. The theme for Earth Day 2025 is “Our Power, Our Planet,” emphasizing the collective responsibility to transition to renewable energy and create a sustainable future, with the goal of tripling global renewable energy generation by 2030.
This year Seabrookers are welcome to celebrate Earth Day with the Kiawah Conservancy at a free, family-friendly event to be held on:
April 25, 2025
4:00 – 7:00 pm
Night Heron Park, Kiawah Island
Enjoy live music from the Shem Creek Boogie Band, hands-on experiences with educational outreach animals from the South Carolina Aquarium and Heron Park Nature Center, and a flight demonstration by the Center for Birds of Prey.

Registration for Gibbes 2025 Summer Camp
Is there an aspiring artist in your family? If so, it’s not too soon to plan for summer activities for children. The Gibbes Summer Camp will be in session from June 2, 2025 to August 1, 2025 offering a wide range of creative experiences for children ages four through 16.
Registration for Summer Camp opens to members of the Gibbes Museum on Monday, January 27 at 10:00 am and to the general public on Tuesday, January 28 at 10:00 am. Members will be sent links to their email on January 27 at 10:00 am. Links will not be available on the website for the general public until 10:00 am on January 28.

Everyone is invited. Bring your kids, grandkids and guests. Show up to take the plunge or just join in the festivities and wish your fellow Seabrookers a very Happy New Year!

Driving Precautions for The Kiawah Island Golf Resort Marathon Dec 14
The 46th Annual Kiawah Island Golf Resort Marathon and Half Marathon is this Saturday, December 14, at 8:00 am. Both the marathon and half marathon courses are Certified and Sanctioned by the USA Track & Field Organization and the marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.
The Race Expo and Packet Pick-up are on Friday and Saturday. After the race on Saturday, there are several events for the runners and spectators on both Saturday and Sunday.
This means Bohicket Road, Main Road, and River Road will be busy the few days before the race, as well as Saturday afternoon and Sunday after the race. Freshfields might also get a bit congested.

Toys for Tots Drop-Off at Seabrook Island Town Hall
Once again, the Town of Seabrook Island is holding a toy drive in support of the Toys for Tots program. New, unwrapped toys and books may be dropped off at Town Hall anytime between now and December 12, 2024.

The Holiday Festival of Lights is back! With over two million lights, this beloved tradition offers fun for the whole family and is sure to boost your holiday spirit. The Holiday Festival of Lights is open every evening, rain or shine, from 5:30-10:00 pm, November 15 through December 31.
The festival is more than just driving through the three miles of beautiful light displays. You are invited to park your car and explore Winter Wonderland, home of the area’s largest holiday sand sculpture formed from over 50 tons of sand. Roam through festival shops for merry gifts, official collector series ornaments, toys, personalized items, decorations and stocking stuffers. Pop into Santa’s Sweet Shoppe for tasty treats. Take a ride on the train for an up-close view of the festival, and see even more light displays on the Enchanted Walking Trail. A complete map of the Holiday of Lights Festival can be found here.
Santa will be at Santa’s Village, 6:00-10:00 pm each night, November 15 through December 23. Visiting with Santa at the festival is free. Digital photos are available for an additional fee.
To enhance visitor experience and to help manage wait times and traffic, Holiday Festival of Lights organizers used historical attendance data to create GREEN, YELLOW and RED nights. Admission prices vary based on the night.
Visitors can save by buying tickets in advance online. Green night pricing is $15 per vehicle if purchased online, or $20 at the gate. Yellow night pricing is $25 per vehicle if purchased online, or $30 at the gate. Red night pricing is $30 per vehicle if purchased online, or $40 at the gate.
