Seabrook Island Green Space Conservancy (SIGSC) Celebrates 25 years!!

On December 5, 2025, SIGSC proudly celebrated 25 years of preserving and protecting the natural beauty of Seabrook Island. This milestone event was a testament not only to SIGSC’s enduring mission—to preserve and enhance Seabrook Island’s natural environment through:

  • Land and easement acquisition
  • Education and conversations about conservation
  • Advocacy for the long-term protection of our island’s natural assets

but also, to the dedication and generosity of the surrounding community. The celebration brought together long-time supporters, new friends, and passionate advocates for conservation.

Holiday Movies at Freshfields Tonight and December 20

Holiday Outdoor Movie Series

Freshfields Village is sponsoring two holiday outdoor movies. The first one, A Christmas Story, is scheduled for tonight, Saturday, December 13.

The second one, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, is scheduled for December 20.

Guests are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and picnics to enjoy the family-friendly movie under the stars beginning at 6:00 pm .

Online Auction to Support Seabrook Island Green Space Conservancy

The online auction is open now!

This Friday, SIGSC is celebrating 25 years of preserving and enhancing Seabrook Island’s natural environment. As part of the celebration, we are holding an online auction which is open to everyone. Bidding is open now and ends on Friday, December 5, at 7:00 pm. You need not be present to win.

Here are some of the auction highlights:

  • Seven-night stay in a five-bedroom home in Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean
  • Seven-night stay in a cozy farm cottage in Reading, VT
  • Private chef’s dinner for eight led by Executive Chef Dan Doyle to be held in the Ashley Room, includes four elegant courses with paired wines 
  • Overnight stay at The Loutrel, including dinner for two at the Blind Tiger restaurant
  • Pasta Party get-together with wine pairings
  • Four one-hour fitness training sessions at the Lake House
  • Three one-hour private golf lessons
  • Beautifully framed photograph by Susan Soden
  • Wine tasting for 10 guests presented by famous sommelier, Ian Coyne from Charlotte, NC

Reminder: Santa and Holiday Market Coming to Freshfields Village

Kick off the festive season at Freshfields Village on Friday, November 28, as we welcome Santa to the Village Green!

Santa Visits Freshfields: Friday, November 28 – Sunday, November 30

Santa Claus will be available for complimentary photos in Santa’s Surf Shack on the Village Green from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday, November 28 and Saturday, November 29, and 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 30. Be sure to bring your camera or phone as families will be able to capture their own special moment this year. Plus, don’t forget your Letter to Santa to send to the North Pole!

Holiday Market: Saturday, November 29 from 10:00 am-5:00 pm

Join us for a special Holiday Market on Saturday, November 29, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Choose the perfect gift from local holiday season food products and Lowcountry crafts! Guests can also enjoy live music each day. Click here for a full schedule of performers.

Traffic Alert Tomorrow-Bohicket Half Marathon and 5K

The Bohicket Half Marathon and 5k race is taking place on Seabrook Island tomorrow, Saturday, November 22, beginning at 8:00 am.

The course runs along Seabrook Island Road from Bohicket Marina to the gate and through Seabrook Island.  Please take care when driving through the racecourse and allow extra time because the road may be down to one lane.

The event is hosted by the Charleston Running Club with help from Bohicket Market and Marina, the Kiawah-Seabrook Exchange Club, and the Charleston Animal Society. Proceeds from the race benefit programs supported by the Kiawah-Seabrook Exchange Club and the Charleston Animal Society.
