The Environmental Committee’s Earth Day Celebration on April 22 will have several bird spotting scopes for participants to use. Also Harris Teeter has donated 50 “green” reusable shopping bags. They will be given out to the first arrivals for NOAA expert Doug Marcy’s talk on increasing sea level rise.
The Post and Courier reported that he will be speaking to the Sierra Club in Charleston. But, Seabrookers will be able to hear the same speech and view Doug’s slides and online demonstration on Earth Day at 10:30 am.
In addition, Steve Hirsch, SIPOA’s island engineer, will be available from 9 to 10:30 am at the Environmental Committee table to answer your questions. All Seabrook environmental groups will have displays from 9 am to noon with all activities taking place at the Lake House. For more information please email Jane Marvin, jrmwvu01@gmail.com.
