On Thursday, November 10th at the Lake House, SINHG’s Evening Program will feature Satch Krantz, the President and CEO of the Riverbanks Zoo, discussing “The Riverbanks Zoo and the Plight of African Animals”. For nearly four decades, Palmer “Satch” Krantz has guided the growth and development of South Carolina’s largest gated tourist attraction and one of the top zoos in the nation. Under his leadership, Riverbanks Zoo is continuously recognized as a leader in wildlife conservation. It should be a fascinating presentation.
For those planning to attend Thursday’s Program, SINHG suggests it would be an ideal time to bring a donation of canned goods to the Holiday Canned Goods Drive at the Lake House. The Drive supports the Sea Islands Hunger Awareness Foundation. Approximately 95% of the food raised will be distributed to families on Johns Island or Wadmalaw Island. The remaining food will go to families on James Island. Shirley Salvo, the executive director of Sea Islands Hunger Awareness Foundation advises that there are approximately 4,000 families on Johns Island in need of food assistance, so donations will be put to excellent use.
Refreshments will be served beginning at 7 PM and the program will begin at 7:30. All Seabrook Island residents and guests are welcome. There is a $5 donation for non-SINHG members. Information about future programs and SINHG membership can be found at the SINHG web site, sinhg.org.
