There is an interesting article in the Post and Courier this morning (Wednesday, May 24, 2017) about Portuguese Man of War sightings in Kiawah and Folly Beach.
Unfortunately, they are not the only place where you will find them. This picture was taken Monday morning on the Seabrook Island Beach between Boardwalk 1 and Boardwalk 2.
Please be cautious if you see them on the beach or in the water. Their tentacles are tucked beneath them and can extend from an average of 30 feet to about 100 feet. These tentacles can be very painful if they touch you.
