Celebrate the Solar Eclipse at Freshfields

As the solar eclipse makes its path across Charleston, come out and celebrate this rare celestial event at Freshfields Village. On Monday, August 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. visitors will enjoy a variety of family friendly activities, music, drinks and more on the Village Green. Free eclipse glasses will be available for the first 100 guests. Additional glasses will be available for purchase at retail locations throughout the Village.EclipseParty

The festivities kick off at 1 p.m. with a free, 45-minute Sun Salutations yoga class led by the team at STUDIO 33. Attendees should bring a yoga mat and water bottle.

From 1 to 4 p.m., let your creativity shine with our Solar Sidewalk Art Contest. Sign up on the Village Green to create your best chalk drawing on the streets of Freshfields Village. Prizes for best solar themed drawings will be awarded to one winner in each age group (Under 5; 5-8; 8-12; and 12+). Chalk will be provided.

FortyEight – A Wine Bar will serve beer, wine and specialty solar eclipse drinks at their outdoor bar. Enjoy tunes from DJ Moo Moo throughout the afternoon, including a solar themed musical montage during the eclipse. Live NASA coverage of the eclipse will be screened on the Village Green. Beach chairs and blankets are encouraged.
