Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding (CATR) at River Road’s Brickhouse Equestrian Center is offering a half-day volunteer training on Saturday, August 25, 2018 in advance of its fall class schedule. CATR is the southeast’s oldest and largest nationally-recognized program offering the therapeutic benefits of horseback riding to special needs adults and children. Volunteers serve as sidewalkers or horse leaders and typically volunteer one to two hours per week. No previous experience with horses is necessary. Volunteer application forms must be completed and returned before the August 25th training and can be found at catr-program.org/start_volunteering.html or by calling 843-559-6040.
