The Kiawah Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned intermediate distance competition featuring a .7-mile swim, 25.1-mile bike, and 6.1-mile run. This race is currently the only intermediate distance triathlon in the Charleston SC area to feature an ocean swim. The entire event is within the Kiawah Island Resort.
The Triathlon is taking place on Sunday, October 16, 2022, and the start time is 7:30 am. The whole event should be over by early afternoon.
For those of us driving on River Road or Main Road, there may be more traffic than usual coming on the island Friday or Saturday for the Sunday event. In addition, many of the athletes will be leaving on Sunday afternoon.
You may want to plan additional time coming on and off of the island during those days.
