Hands-On Macro Photography Workshop
Led by Sandy Dimke
Cost: $15 per person for SI Photo Club Members, $25 for non-members.
Pre-registration is required to attend this workshop. Email Maureen Healy at seabrookislandphotographyclub22@gmail.com to sign up.
Sandy Dimke, a Beaufort area fine art photographer, will lead a 2-3 hour workshop where she will have over a dozen different stations set up for macro photography. She will bring a variety of items to photograph including fresh flowers, shells, feathers, leaves, pine cones, marbles, cancelled commemorative stamps, crayons, foreign coins, chess pieces, buttons, vintage postcards, and Scrabble letters. She will bring light boxes, light pads and an assortment of backgrounds to lay objects on or to put behind standing still lifes.

Attendees are encouraged to use tripods and dedicated macro or close up lenses to photograph these items but these are not required. Any type of camera will work, including cell phones that have a close up or macro feature. So come and have fun!

Sandy presently serves as worldwide Chairperson of the Pictorial Print Division for the Photographic Society of America and holds the PPSA distinction. In 2019 she was inducted into the National Association of Women Artists and in 2022 was inducted into the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) with the AFIAP distinction.
