Ceiling Fans in Cooler Weather

Cooler weather is upon us, so it’s time to change the direction of your ceiling fan. Warm air rises, so turning the fan blades in a clockwise direction creates an updraft that helps move warm air trapped near the ceiling back out and around the room. It will not only make you feel warmer but it will lower the cost of running your heating system.

To change the direction of the blades:

Turn off the fan and wait for the blades to come to a complete stop.
Locate the direction switch on the fan housing. Flip the switch. Turn the ceiling fan back on and confirm direction.

If using a remote, stop the fan. When the blades have come to a complete stop, press the reverse button on the remote. Turn the ceiling fan back on and confirm direction.
