Swimming enthusiasts, including Olympians, kayakers and volunteers will take part in Swim Across America’s inaugural Kiawah Island Open Water Swim. The open water clinic and swim will feature participants that fundraise for cancer research. The money raised will benefit the eight named Swim Across America labs at world-renowned beneficiaries.
Swim Across America is a national non-profit that runs swimming-related events throughout the country to support cancer research at the most highly recognized hospitals and institutions. To date, more than $65 million has been raised nationwide over the last 30 years and more than 100 Olympians have participated in SAA events.
Saturday, July 22nd, 2017. Freshfields Village Shopping Center on Kiawah Island will host Swim Across America Day from 2-6 PM. The event will include live music, Olympian appearances, sponsor games, a raffle and participating discounts from stores and restaurants.
Sunday, July 23rd, 2017. The Open Water Swim will take place from 8 AM – 10:30 AM., followed by post-swim festivities from 11 AM to Noon.

The SugarBees are a full service, Top 40 band which includes vocals, guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums. They perform at many different venues in the southeast and cover a wide variety of music. Along with performing hit songs from a variety of artists, the band has had many original beach, boogie, and blues hits of their own. The group has recorded many albums over the years. The SugarBees take pride in their music and it shows at every performance. With an extended song list, our verstile group can adjust the show according to each event. The band is fully self contained with lights, PA, and a DJ system. With topflight musicianship and a polished, dynamic, live presentation, The SugarBees have it all!

Kenneth Branagh directs Disney’s 2015, live-action take on the classic fairy tale Cinderella, which stars Lily James as the put-upon young women forced to endure a life of labor at the hands of her stepmother (Cate Blanchett) after her father dies unexpectedly. Forced to do every menial chore imaginable, Ella maintains her good spirits and eventually strikes up a friendship with a stranger in the woods who turns out to be the prince.
