Bohicket Marina Events for Easter – April 13-15

Hermit Crab Races

Thursday, April 13th

Check in starts at 6:30pm and the racing begins at 7:00pm.  Bring your own hermit crab, buy a hermit crab, or rent a hermit crab for just $2.  All winners get a free cone at the Ice Cream Boat and bragging rights, of course! Kid’s Fishing Tournament

Friday, April 14th

Join us for a special pre-season “kid’s fish” on Good Friday, April 14th.  It’s a great event for the whole family in beautiful Bohicket Marina.

First Tournament is 11:00-12:00noon

Second Tournament is 12:00noon -1:00pm

$7 per participant includes rod, bait, plus all the help you need.  All winners will get a T-shirt, bait bucket, plus bragging rights, of course!  If you have question, call Todd Gerhardt on 248-719-0076.

Seventh Annual Art Walk

April 15th, 10:00am to 7:00pm

Some of the area’s best artists will be participating in the Sea Islands Chamber of Commerce’s Seventh Annual Art Walk at Bohicket Marina Saturday, April 15 (the day before Easter) from 10:00am-7:00pm.

Celebrate the arrival of warmer weather with a spring edition of Music on the Green on Friday, April 14 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm with live music by Port Authority Band. This local four piece band features you favorite oldies, beach, Motown and Top 40 tunes.

Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or beach chair to this complimentary event.

Freshfields Art Show

The Seabrook Artist Guild will be holding an art show and sale at Freshfields Village as follows:

SUNDAY, APRIL 9TH FROM 2 TO 7 PM;  this event will be tied into the “BLUES BY THE SEA” concert.
SATURDAY, APRIL 15TH, FROM 10 AM TO 3 PM;  this event will be tied into the “SPRING FESTIVAL”.

Sea Islands Cars and Coffee, Saturday 3/18

The next Sea Islands Cars and Coffee is March 18th, from 9 am until 11 am at Freshfields Village. This is the 3rd year anniversary of what has become a popular monthly event. Our February Cars and Coffee was one of our best ever, in terms of number and variety of cars and spectators.

We hope March will be even bigger and better. As a reminder, we will not be holding Cars and Coffee in April this year. Instead, please plan to attend “Cars on Kiawah” at Ocean Park on May 6th. Registrations are moving at a rapid pace and it looks like we will have about 250 great cars on display. Exhibitors are encouraged to register your cars through clubs you may be a member of or as individuals exhibitors via our website, www.kiawahconcours.com.

Freshfields Village – Blues by the Sea – April 10th

Description:
Come to the 12th Annual Blues by the Sea on Sunday, April 10 from 2:30 to 7:00 pm. The Cultural Arts Council of Kiawah presents a free, outdoor concert featuring a variety of blues acts.

2:30 pm: RANDY MCALLISTER – Texas roadhouse master returns with a new band and a new CD. A wild mix of blues, country rock, rancheras, Cajun, and swamp music.

4:00 pm: MAC ARNOLD & PLATE FULL O’ BLUES – South Carolina born & bred, bassist/singer Mac Arnold spent his younger days working with Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and others before embarking on his own fabulous career. The real deal!

5:30 pm: MISSISSIPPI HEAT – All-star Chicago band records for Delmark Records and traverses the world with their post-modern urban blues. Their latest album “Warning Shot” has been spending time in the upper strata of the national blues radio charts…exciting! Charleston debut.

Be sure to bring a beach chair or blanket, and food and beverage will be available for purchase. The event is tented and will take place rain or shine.
