Dogtoberfest: Dogs, Dine and Wine Pet Expo Oct 28

Bring your dog, sip some wine and help out local pet rescues at the 11th annual Dogtoberfest: Dogs, Dine and Wine Pet Expo. The event, which brings together pet rescue organizations from around the Lowcountry, returns to Freshfields Village on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 1:00  to 5:00 p.m.

FYI, Seabrookers Ben (Deborah Robinson’s dog) and Ariel Marcoux (calendar firefighter from Seabrook) will be making their appearances.

In addition to meet-and-greets with local rescue groups and the annual wine tasting, this free event includes:

  • Craft Beer and Delicious Food
  • Live entertainment
  • On-site vendors
  • Pet costume contest at 3 p.m.
  • Blessing of the animals
  • A commemorative wine glass
  • Exciting prizes and giveaways, and more!

Proceeds from Dogtoberfest benefit the participating pet rescue organizations, including Shih Tzus and Furbabies, Grateful Goldens Rescue, Greyhound Pets of America – Charleston, Carolina Coonhound Rescue, Water’s Edge Animal Rescue, Lowcountry Lab Rescue and King Charles Cavalier Spaniel Rescue.

Art Show and Sale at Freshfields

In concert with Freshfields Fall Festival, this coming Saturday, October 7, 2017, the Seabrook Artist Guild and the Photograph Club will hold an art show and sale from 10 am until 3 pm. Come see the many beautiful works of art created by your fellow Seabrookers!

Charleston County Library Bookmobile

The Charleston County Bookmobile comes to Freshfields Village on the first and third Tuesday of every month from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. The Bookmobile will be parked in the lot behind Hege’s and Java Java and will be there on October 3rd and 17th.

Tidelines Morning Report – September 12

Here’s the morning update on what’s happening on Seabrook Island.

There is still flooding in some areas, but overall, the roads are passable.  Law enforcement is checking vehicles at the traffic circle to ensure the drivers should be coming onto Seabrook Island.  Power is still out throughout the Island, but Freshfields Village has power (and coffee if you need it!).

Reminder-Freshfields Eclipse Party , 08/21

As the solar eclipse makes its path across Charleston, come out and celebrate this rare celestial event at Freshfields Village. On Monday, August 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. visitors will enjoy a variety of family friendly activities, music, drinks and more on the Village Green. Free eclipse glasses will be available for the first 100 guests. Additional glasses will be available for purchase at retail locations throughout the Village.EclipseParty

The festivities kick off at 1 p.m. with a free, 45-minute Sun Salutations yoga class led by the team at STUDIO 33. Attendees should bring a yoga mat and water bottle.

From 1 to 4 p.m., let your creativity shine with our Solar Sidewalk Art Contest. Sign up on the Village Green to create your best chalk drawing on the streets of Freshfields Village. Prizes for best solar themed drawings will be awarded to one winner in each age group (Under 5; 5-8; 8-12; and 12+). Chalk will be provided.

Fuji Sushi Bar & Grill Now Open at Freshfields

Great News!  Freshfields Village just announced that Fuji Sushi Bar and Grill is now opened!  The new restaurant offers authentic Japanese cuisine and a full bar with an extensive selection of wine, beer, sake and house made cocktails. New Opening in Freshfields Village

Bluemercury, a cosmetics and spa retailer, has just opened in Freshfields Village, occupying the space once held by the ice cream shop.

Bluemercury will be showing a selection of beauty products including their proprietary brands in skincare. In addition to retail products, clients can be pampered at their in-house spa, home to such treatments as the Oprah approved Oxygen Facials, glycolic peels and waxing services.

This is the Company’s second location in the area- the first is located on King Street in Charleston.

Notice: the correct time for this event is  4pm-6pm. On Monday, July 31, acclaimed South Carolina author Ron Rash will be at Indigo Books for a book signing. He has written six books including the PEN/Faulkner finalist and New York Times bestseller Serena and five collections of poems. Of his six short story collections, he has been the finalist for the PEN/Faulkner award, won the Frank O’Conner International Short Story award, and twice been the recipient of the O. Henry prize. Always an entertaining speaker, you can see him between 4 and 6pm.

Freshfields Village Music on the Green – Travis Allison Band – July 28

Join us Friday evening July 28, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm for a complimentary concert on the Village Green! This week’s concert features variety of rock, acoustic and Americana hits by  Travis Allison Band. Guests are encouraged to bring a beach chair or blanket for the event.

The Travis Allison Band’s soulful three-part vocal harmonies, piano, organ, electric and acoustic guitars,  harmonica, drums and bass fuse to create a live Americana rock n’ roll show like no other…and one helluva good time!   The TAB blends a variety of original material with choice cover tunes at over 150 shows a year along the eastern seaboard.

Freshfields Village Starlight Cinema – Sing – July 26

Join us on the Village Green at 8:30 pm on July 26, 2017 for a free movie under the stars featuring Sing. Guests are encouraged to bring a beach chair or blanket for the event.
