Bring your paper trash, computer disks and drives as well as old tax returns to be shredded. Paper may be brought to the site in cardboard boxes, but they are not able to shred the actual box.
This is a free Shred Day that will enable Seabrookers to safely destroy any of these items. Shredding items is one way to protect yourself from Identity Fraud.

The benefits to the Town of Seabrook Island were supported by an Estimated Economic Impact Study prepared by Charleston Area Sports Commission, part of the Charleston Visitors Bureau. Based on data from the 2014 tournament, the study concluded that last year the tournament generated $330,000 of commercial revenue, the majority of which was spent locally. This did not include a real estate sale to one of the competitors. The request to the Council was that the Town be a Presenter Sponsor, contributing $5,000. This would sponsor the welcoming cocktail party on Thursday and the dinner on Friday night. After discussion, the motion was approved by unanimous vote of the Council. In consideration for the sponsorship, the Fleming Committee would list the Town on the Sponsor banner at the Racquet Club for a full year. During the Tournament, three Town banners will be prominently displayed. In addition, the Town’s sponsorship will be referenced in all of the Tournament’s printed material. At its April meeting, the Seabrook Island Town Council passed, in a 4 to 1 vote, a resolution to oppose both the inclusion of the Mid-Atlantic and South Atlantic Planning Areas in the 2017-2022 Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program, and the use of seismic analysis as part of geological and geophysical exploration in such areas. The Mayor was directed to communicate council’s position on these issues to applicable state and federal officials.
Seabrook Island joins many of the surrounding towns who have taken positions opposing offshore drilling. Action was taken after careful consideration by the town. It was discussed at three consecutive meetings and not decided until the results of a Property Owners Association survey on the issue were known, which showed overwhelming opposition. Mayor Ahearn explained at a Town Council meeting that drilling would probably not commence for at least ten years, but seismic testing could start in a month or so.
