Music & Movie At Freshfields This Week

Freshfields Village continues it Starlight Cinema Series this Wednesday, August 21, from 8:30 pm – 10:30 pm.  The featured movie is Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. 

The Music on the Green Summer Series at Freshfields also continues this week with live music on Friday, August 23, by Shrimp City Slim from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

Kiawah Island Ban on Single-Use Plastics

As you may already know, the Town  Council of Kiawah Island has passed an ordinance banning single-use plastic bags, plastic straws, and styrofoam. It will go into effect on Sunday, September 8, 2019.

Freshfields Village is a part of the Town of Kiawah Island, so all the facilities in the village will have to adhere to this new policy. This includes Harris Teeter, which like the other shopping and dining facilities, encourage the use of reusable bags. They will continue to provide recyclable paper bags.

Freshfields Village is giving away free reusable bags on Mondays during the Farmers Market between 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm.

Freshfields Village posted this notice on their website:

“Due to today’s inclement weather, Music on the Green is canceled.  We apologize for the inconvenience, but the safety of our guests and performers is our top priority.”

Holiday Hours for 4th of July

Holiday hours for the 4th of July Weekend 2019 are as follows:

The Lake House has canceled all fitness classes due to the Fourth of July Holiday events on the following days:
Wednesday, July 3
Thursday, July 4
Friday, July 5
In addition, the Lake House Outdoor Pool will be closed from 7:30 am until 9:00 am on Friday, July 5 for the Tri It Kids Triathlon.

SIPOA Offices will be closed all day on Thursday, July 4, 2019. They will open for normal hours (8:00 am until 4:00 pm) on both Wednesday, July 3 and Friday, July 5.  Trash, recycling and yard debris will be picked up as normal on Monday, July 8.   Brown and White Pickup will be on Friday, July 12 and NOT on July 5.

Town of Seabrook Island Offices holiday hours are as follows:

Monday, July 1 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (regular hours)
Tuesday, July 2, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (regular hours)
Wednesday, July 3, 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
Thursday, July 4, closed all day
Friday, July 5, 8:00 am – 2:00 pm

Harris Teeter will be open all weekend, including Thursday, July 4, with normal hours.

Vincent’s Pharmacy will be closed on Thursday, July 4, and reopen on Friday, July 5 for normal hours (9:00 am until 6:30 pm.) Note that their normal hours on Saturday are from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm and they are closed on Sunday.

Post and Computer Center will be closed all day on Thursday, July 4, 2019. They will open for normal hours on Friday, July 5 (9:00 am until 6:00 pm) and Saturday, July 6 (9:00 am until 3:00 pm).
